Customers of Blue Skies Services,
As CEO of Blue Skies Services, I wanted to talk with you directly about our role in helping prevent the spread of coronavirus.
First of all, our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the coronavirus and to the healthcare workers who are doing what they can to mitigate its impact.
As a cleaning company, we are taking the coronavirus very seriously.  While people land on all ends of the spectrum about how serious this disease may or may not be, our job is not to take a stance on the seriousness of the threat that it creates, but rather to focus on the seriousness of the job we must do.  Our values and beliefs have always centered on doing everything in our power to keep our employees and customers safe and happy.  That has not changed, it has intensified.  We’re a resource that helps keep your home clean and disinfected, and that is more important than ever.  This email is to inform you of the guidance we are pursuing and the steps we are taking to ensure we do everything in our power for the health and safety of those two groups of people we hold ourselves accountable to taking care of.
Cleaning and disinfecting helps break the chain of infection
According to the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, there are six primary links in the chain of infection, and cleaning and disinfecting surfaces is one way to break that chain. Keeping your home clean is of primary importance. We have been following developments, Center for Disease Control (CDC) cleaning/disinfecting guidelines and taking extra measures to keep your home as clean and sanitary as possible, including:
  1. extra training with all employees about the proper ways to disinfect the most compromised surfaces (for interior cleaning – all handles, knobs, and frequently touched surfaces)
  2. spending extra time in each home we clean the inside of, on those specific surfaces, at not additional cost to our customers
  3. wearing additional protective gear to both keep our employees safe in the field and help put our customers at ease about the spread of germs
  4. procuring additional cleaning agents that meet the Environmental Protection Agencies’ (EPA) guidelines
  5. testing to ensure the health of our employees
The game plan if we do encounter the coronavirus
In the instance that one of our customers or one of our employees either becomes ill with the coronavirus themselves or someone that has been in their household does, for the sake of all customers and employees we will consider them quarantined for a full two weeks, per CDC guidelines.  That means that if you or someone in your house, even a visitor of recent, is known to have coronavirus you must notify us immediately for the safety of all other parties involved.   Likewise, we will be implementing procedures within our own office to ensure that any employee under the same circumstances as listed above will be safely quarantined for a full two weeks to prevent the spread.
As information on the virus continues to come out and we continue to learn more, we will be updating and adjusting as necessary to ensure we are always doing everything we can for the health and safety of our employees and our customers.
Thank you for your support in this matter and helping us to keep our most important surfaces clean for the safety of us all.
